Boycott Israeli Software used for surveillance
Recently it was brought to my attention that Zone Alarm based in Herzliya Israel was being used for spying. Trackers, trojans, and other key loggers have long been around, and I guess even the Mossad wanted to get in on the action. The Mossad’s headquarters is also based in Herzliya. Most of it is harmless good fun . . . for bored Israelis I guess. To stop such nuisances I suggest a boycott of Israeli software until they can prove they are independent of their intelligence agencies. I would imagine American consumers are big purchasers of Israel’s products, but unless they come clean and get clean Americans should just say nyet.
Therefore, this week’s featured company to just say nyet to is Checkpoint Software in Ramat Gan, Israel, and its Zone Alarm product. Of course they always could abandon their childish practices and join the civilized world. Then again, Google may also be employing the same infantilism.
